The annual NAIDOC Student Award is a City of Belmont initiative which recognizes an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander student’s achievement during the past 12 months. Participating schools are responsible for nominating one student to receive a City of Belmont NAIDOC Student Award. Nominations for the award are open to all student years.

A framed Certificate of Achievement and a book voucher is presented by the Mayor (or a Council representative of the City of Belmont) at an event or assembley celebrating the NAIDOC Week.

Previous recipients of the award have been thrilled and honoured to be nominated and many schools in the Belmont area have welcomed the initiative.
