Cultural Tour of Belmont with Dr Noel Nannup

DATE: Thursday, 9 November 2017
TIME: 9am to 3pm
LOCATION: Pick up from Civic Centre, 215 Wright Street, Cloverdale

The purpose of the tour is to provide a unique opportunity to
increase the community’s awareness of Aboriginal culture, heritage and connection to land. Areas of significance include: Tomato Lake, Adachi Park, Bilya Kard Boodja Lookout and Signal Hill.

Light lunch will be provided.

Noongar Seasons Community Barbecue

DATE: Thursday, 30 November 2017
LOCATION: Wilson Park, Corner Gerring Court and Kooyong Road, Rivervale

These FREE Noongar Seasons Community Barbecues aim to establish better relationships between Aboriginal and Non Aboriginal community members. They also provide an opportunity for community members to have a yarn and reconnect with family and storytelling.

A FREE sausage sizzle and refreshments for all those attending the events will be provided.

Harmony and Close the Gap Concert

DATE: 18 March 2018
LOCATION: Tomato Lake, Kewdale

This free family outdoor concert is a celebration of the City’s cultural diversity and unique heritage, and also acknowledges local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ contribution to the community.

The concert supports and commits to Closing the Gap health inequity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians within a generation.
