The City recognises the importance of working with the community to create an environment where all residents can participate in community life to maximise their full potential and feel valued as equal and involved citizens.

Our residents are the experts of their community and as such we strive to work with the community to utilise the strengths, knowledge and skills that are abundant across our diverse City. The City works collaboratively across a broad range of community groups, events and projects.

Emergency and Financial Support Services Directory

​Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities

The City of Belmont is committed to and continues to work and support local Aboriginal and Torees Strait Islander communities by celebrating local art, cultures, histories and wellness. Connecting the City of Belmont to the local Aboriginal community and organisations will enable Aboriginal people to have their voices heard, thereby creating a safe environment in which Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal peoples can live and work together.

Belmont Sister City

This year the City of Belmont celebrates a 35 year relationship with its Sister City, Adachi-ku in Tokyo, Japan. The Sister City relationship promotes cultural and educational exchanges between the two cities.

From immunisation clinics to family events and activities, the City of Belmont aims to support and provide family friendly services to its community. Find out more about services and facilities for children.

For youth (11-25) the City of Belmont's partnership with YMCA aims to provide the City’s young people with access to highly trained and qualified youth workers, innovative programs and interesting activities in a supportive, safe and youth friendly space. Home and Community Care

The City is keen to see all of our community members maintain a high quality of life and continue to make a contribution to society. For our older residents and people with disabilities this will often mean being able to stay in their own homes, where they can remain comfortable and be in familiar surroundings. The City coordinates several State and Commonwealth Government funded services to address the specific needs in our community.
