Harmony Student Awards

Harmony Day celebrates Australia’s cultural diversity on March 21 coinciding with the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. The concept of “harmony” is about inclusiveness, respect and more broadly “everyone belongs” from diverse backgrounds and life circumstances.

The annual Harmony Student Award is a City of Belmont initiative which acknowledges and recognises a student who has contributed to creating a welcoming community. Participating schools are responsible for nominating a student to receive a City of Belmont Harmony Award. Nominations for the award are open to all student years.

A framed Certificate of Achievement and a book voucher is presented by the Mayor (or a Council representative of the City of Belmont) at an event or assembly celebrating Harmony Day.

Please contact your local school to enquire if they participate in this initiative.
