The City’s Health Department is responsible for ensuring the overall public health of the City and for:

The inspection of food premises, stables, hairdressers and skin
penetration premises, lodging houses, caravan park premises and public
buildings
- Carrying out food sampling
- Survey and following up communicable and infectious disease notifications
- Monitor dwellings unfit for human habitation and issuing upgrading notices
- Carrying out water sampling of public and semi-public swimming pools (not private)
- Investigating noise, nuisance and vermin complaints
