As a precautionary measure, all City of Belmont events have been cancelled until further notice following Federal Government directives that all organised, non-essential gatherings not proceed to mitigate the spread of Coronavirus. The safety, health and wellbeing of our local community is our top priority. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding.

The City of Belmont is proud to provide the community with FREE and LOW cost Active, Nutritious and Creative Lifestyles classes in our autumn series.

Yoga in the Park Roadshow

Calm the mind, relieve stress, stretch and feel rejuvenated with our Yoga in the Park Roadshow. Attend them all or just the one, these sessions are suitable for all fitness levels and ages 16 years and older.

Bring/wear: Comfortable clothing, yoga mat, towel and drink bottle

Vinyasa / Strong Flow: a strong physical practice in which you will feel your muscles work and stretch with the breath, giving you a focus to calm your mind.

Yin / Yang: is a combination of Yin (holding postures) and more dominant Yang (flow class).

Gentle: is a slower paced flow practice without intensity or vigorous movement.




Family Bike Session

Something to enjoy with the whole family, cycling is a great way to move your body and explore your local area. Bring the family down to Miles Park for a community ride and learn tips and tricks about making your next family ride more safe and enjoyable for everyone. 

This workshop is ideal for families who:

  • Want to gain confidence riding together safely
  • Build & improve their riding skills
  • Become savvy when out and about on a bike

Available for both adults & children.

Cost*: FREE
Venue: Miles Park (located corner of Wright & Belgravia St)
Bring: Bike, helmet, wear comfortable clothes, sunscreen and bring water

FREE Bike Service

Ride to Miles Park and get a comprehensive safety check and basic service for your bicycle. Check over includes helmet, brakes and tyre pressure. Basic bike service includes various adjustments, shift/brake cable and brake pad replacements, drive train lube service and tube fixing. Get a detailed service checklist to take home and if your treadlie needs some further TLC we'll provide you with repair advice and a referral.

Nutritious Lifestyles



CANCELLED - Cooking Demo - Fuelling your body for physical activity

Whether it's a casual workout or you are training for a marathon, the foods you fuel your body with can directly affect your performance. Join Nick Nation, Principal Dietician and Director of Nutrition Nation for an interactive cooking demonstration and find out the best way to fuel your body for your physical activity level.

Participants will receive a light meal.

Creative Lifestyles


 
 
Nature Art in the Park – Children aged 2-5 years and 6-12 years

We all know children are happiest outdoors. This workshop will allow your child to immerse themselves in a morning of play and being creative in nature. Come and enjoy the park and create beautiful eco art works with Artist Clare Detchon. Children will explore natural materials in the park and create their own small sculptures.

No experience is necessary and parent involvement is essential.

There are two workshops available. Choose the one that matches your child’s age. Parents/Guardians, please register each child individually on Eventbrite.

Workshop Number 1 (for children aged 2-5 years):

Workshop Number 2 (for children aged 6-12 years):

CANCELLED  - UKE 123 (Beginners Ukulele) with Shaun Chandran

Have you ever wished you could play a musical instrument?  Well, now you can! Learn to play the ukulele in just 3 weeks in this fun, relaxed and engaging course designed for absolute adult beginners. No prior musical knowledge required. Learn basic chords, rhythm and strumming patterns, which will have you playing a repertoire of songs spanning the decades.

Cost*:  $100 – includes a brand new soprano ukulele in natural wood finish (with carry bag).
