The City of Belmont is proud to provide the community with FREE and LOW cost Active, Nutritious and Creative Lifestyles classes in our summer series.

Come and experience something new and exciting that Belmont has to offer!

Beginner Pilates

Join Jodie from Vital Wellness Pilates for 8 weeks of mat-based pilates. Using your body weight for resistance and a mat, you will flow through a range of controlled movements aimed at improving core strength, muscle tone, flexibility, balance, posture and range of movements. 

There are 2 classes to suit participant needs and focus based on age:

Kick-start your 2019 health goals workshop

With festivities out of the way and children back at school, this is a perfect time to focus on your personal health and wellness goals for 2019. Join the City's fitness experts Tracy and Roger Gott for a practical session on how to kick-start your health journey, set realistic, achievable goals and tips on how to stay on track and motivated.

Join Tracy and Roger for an engaging and practical goal setting workshop that will also incorporate some moderate exercise.

Nutritious Lifestyles




Back to School Lunches by Sarah Moore

Join registered nutritionist Sarah Moore as she takes the stress out of packing healthy school lunches. Sarah will explain what you should be packing and why, as well as tips and tricks to make sure lunches actually get eaten. There will be plenty of inspiration with recipes, real lunchbox displays and packet snacks that get Sarah's tick of approval. This workshop is ideal for both new and experienced parents and carers responsible for packing school lunches. 

Cost*: FREE for residents; $5 for non-residents

Introduction to Oil Painting

This 6 week course is designed for beginners and those wishing to advance their painting skills. Use brushes and other simple application methods to paint landscapes and seascapes from photos with WA artist Val Brooks.  

Basic materials supplied. Suitable for all levels.

Cost*:  City of Belmont residents - $90 per term
            Non-residents - $120 per term

When: Wednesdays, 13 February 2019 to 20 March 2019, 6:30pm - 8:30pm

The Power of Flower Painting

By using a variety of painting media, like acrylic, ink, watercolour, gouache and other painting products, learn how to create bold, colourful and dynamic flower paintings. 

Week 1 and 2 - Mark Making

Have fun by dabbing, scrapping, squirting, rolling and smearing paint onto the canvas surface to make delicious marks.

Week 3 and 4 - Mapping Out and Negative Spaces 

Draw in the flower image with charcoal and start painting the negative spaces first. 

Week 5 and 6 - Continuing On and Completion

Continue with the painting by building up the layers, and on the last week bring the painting to completion.

Basic materials supplied. Suitable for all levels.

            Non-residents - $120 per term
