The City of Belmont is proud to provide the community with FREE and LOW cost Active, Nutritious and Creative Lifestyles autumn series, 2017 classes.
Come and experience something new and exciting that Belmont has to offer!

Bike activity - Bike to Work Breakfast

During Bike Week, the City of Belmont hosts the annual Belmont Bike to Work Breakfast. The breakfast is held at Goodwood Parade boat ramp, Balbuk Way, Rivervale. Ride your bike down between 6:30am and 8:30am to enjoy a free healthy breakfast, grab a spot prize and get free bike maintenance for your pedal powered transport.

Get on your bike during Bike Week, and ride to school, work, and the shops or just for fun! It’s great for your health, the environment and your hip pocket. Keep your eyes on www.bikeweek.com.au for more information on events being held all over Perth.

Nutritious Lifestyles

How to Write and Create Healthy Recipes

In this one hour workshop, you’ll learn how to turn your favourite dishes into written recipes to share. If you have most of your meals committed to memory, learn how to get them down on paper and start sharing them. Registered nutritionist Sarah Moore has a decade of experience developing and writing healthy recipes. She’ll show you how to write recipes that work every time and share her tips on making minor changes to family favourites to make them balanced and healthy.

Gain the edge and use this workshop to polish your entry into our community cookbook competition.

Bring: Any notes or written family favourite recipes
Cost*: FREE for residents; $5 for non-residents

Healthy Food Styling and Photography

This hands-on workshop for beginners will introduce you to tips and tricks used by the professionals to present and photograph your home cooked meals. You’ll learn how to style your food for a good photo and pick up tips on making healthy snacks and meals. Using only your smart phone, you’ll learn about the basic settings and editing functions to make your meals look their best for sharing on social media. You’ll be photographing real food under the guidance of registered nutritionist and social media fanatic Sarah Moore.

Bring: Smartphone with enough space to take lots of photos, phone charger, pen and paper
Cost*: FREE for residents; $5 for non-residents

Creative Lifestyles

Artist in Residence - Leesa Padget

Come along and see Leesa Padget, winner of the 2016 City of Belmont Acquisitive Art Award paint and discuss her art techniques. Leesa will be working on an exciting new series exploring the relationship between animals and folklore.

This series celebrates whimsical depictions of mythical and fabled beasts together with common creatures. The underlying message is that if we do not care for our animals, the creatures that we know and love today will become tomorrow’s folklore.

Cost: FREE! No RSVP required.

Saturday Street Beatz - Adam James

From the streets of London to Perth, Adam James has been performing internationally since 2000. His style is based on creating loops of rhythms with his guitar and soulful vocals. Adam will thrill you by playing acoustic versions of tunes old and new. Catch his exciting performances at Kooyong Road and Tomato Lake throughout the month of April!
