Yoga @ Forster

Join Nicole Lamb from Owlkeyme for a fun, dynamic yet deeply relaxing series of yoga classes. This 8 week program has a beginner stream and an intermediate stream. The yoga series is designed to encourage all levels to embrace yoga, to learn breathing techniques, improve flexibility, overall wellbeing and learn skills to manage mental and emotional wellbeing. Nicole and her team are qualified and equipped to support the Belmont community to embrace yoga for all physical fitness levels.

Bring: Comfortable clothing, yoga mat, towel and water bottle
Cost*: $20 for residents for the term; $80 for non-residents per term
Venue: Forster Park Community Centre, Cloverdale
When: Saturdays, 9 June to 28 July 2018, Beginners 9am to 9.45am, Intermediate 10am to 10.45am

What is Happiness? 

An inspiring presentation on how to build psychological wellbeing. This one hour presentation/workshop is an engaging introduction to the science of happiness. The format consists of a presentation followed by a group workshop activity, in which everyone shares their wisdom and individual take on happiness. Based on the scientific findings of positive psychology, the presentation inspires listeners to pursue activities and attitudes that can increase their enjoyment and fulfilment in life. Positive psychology offers a broad variety of tools for increasing and maintaining mental health and psychological wellbeing.

Gut Health: What you need to know

The evidence is in and indicates a healthy microbiome is the key to our health and longevity. But what exactly is a microbiome and how can we keep it happy? Come along and hear registered nutritionist Sarah Moore explain the current evidence on gut health, dispel common myths and give you a checklist of practical strategies to keep your gut healthy.

Creative Lifestyles


'Have a Go' Painting Course 

Join WA artist Amanda Harris in this 5 week course and have a go at using five different water based paint mediums. At the end of the course participants get to take home five completed paintings. Suitable for beginners or for those artists who wish to expand their painting mediums.

Week 1 - Inks on paper

Week 2 - Watercolour on watercolour paper

Week 3 - Gouache on paper or canvas

Week 4 - Acrylic on stretched canvas

Week 5 - Mixed media on canvas board

*Basic materials supplied. Suitable for all levels.

           Non-residents - $120 per term

 NAIDOC 2018 Dance and Song Kids Workshop

This workshop by Aborignal artist Jade Dolman teaches Noongar culture through dance and song. Children will learn about traditional gender roles, language, native animals and the traditional way of life. This workshop will also celebrate this year's NAIDOC theme: "Because of her, we can!"

Suitable for children 5+
