Wellness In Belmont (Online Classes & Resources)

The COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic has encouraged all to stay home as much as possible. However, staying home does not have to mean moving less. There are plenty of free online resources to keep you healthy & active at home. Resources include online videos, live stream classes, or printing off hardcopy programs.

Below are some great external resources to help you on your wellness journey at home. Be sure to visit this page each month as we have some exciting online classes in development to keep you going through winter!

Online Classes

Introduction to CountUSin

Do you want to increase your physical activity levels and make healthy changes to your diet but don’t know where to start? Then our online 4 week CountUSin program is for you.

Virtually join our CountUSin Mentors Tracy and Roger Gott each week from the comfort of your own home. Learn how to safely exercise within your own limits and build on this over the course of four weeks. Then jump online and into the kitchen with the team from FoodBank WA and whip up deliciously healthy meals on a budget.

Choose when you start!  We'll be running two separate 4 week sessions from the following dates:
  • Tuesday 26 May 2020
  • Tuesday 9 June 2020

Physical Activity Resources


Active Seniors offers seniors exercise and health services in Australia. For free online exercise videos visit the Active Seniors website.

Safe Exercises at Home offers information, exercises and resources for seniors developed in collaboration by Australian Physiotherapists. Visit the Safe Exercise at Home website.

Belmont Oasis Leisure Centre - BFit@Home 

Keep yourself and the family Fit@Home watching live stream exercise classes brought to you by BlueFit. There's no need to worry about missing a class as you can watch them anytime that suits you. Whether you choose Zumba, Barre, FX30, Pilates, Swish Basketball or Strike Soccer, there is something for everyone - even the kids!

National Heart Foundation

As people living with heart disease are more vulnerable to complications from the novel coronavirus, it's especially important that these individuals maintain good physical health. Take a look at the National Heart Foundation's heart focused home exercise program here.

Nature Play WA encourages the children of Western Australia to enjoy unstructured play outdoors and in nature. Nature Play WA has put together a 'Self Isolation For Families' resource hub which has great resources for children including:

The Better Health Program

Children aged 7-13 who are above the healthy weight range are invited to join this free,10-week healthy lifestyle program. Running online for both children and their families, the Better Health Program includes weekly sessions, free resources (including a Garmen fitness tracker) and weekly coaching calls with a trained and qualified health coach to help keep you on track and make healthy lifestyle changes for the whole family! Why not pull out your cookbooks from the cupboards and get back into baking snacks or cooking all your meals at home! If you are looking for fresh ideas, quick and healthy meals or just some new recipes, try these organisations below.

The Food Sensations® for Adults Program is now a free online nutrition program that is interactive, fun and provides a safe environment to learn how to make healthier choices. All you need is access to the internet and a computer, phone or tablet. The program goes for 1.5 hours each week, for 3 weeks. We highly recommend you attend all three to get the most out of the program.

Mindfulness and Meditation

If you’re looking for a free guided 10-minute meditation that will cultivate focus, compassion, and a more relaxed mind and body, this one is a great place to start.
