Each child in your family is entitled to a library membership. Present your current identification and a Medicare Card or Health Care Card or current Passport
Your membership card is required whenever you borrow items from the library or access our public computers or wireless internet.When you join the Library, you are accepting responsibility for all items borrowed on your membership card. You must notify the Library when your card is lost or stolen, so staff may prevent further transactions. You can obtain a replacement card for $3.00 and presenting photo identification.
You can borrow up to a maximum of 15 items on your card with exception of the following:● Express DVDs (Limit of 3)● Jigsaws (Limit of 3)● Kits (Limit of 3)Items can be borrowed for 3 weeks except special loan collections. Express DVDs can be borrowed for only 7 days.
You can renew items unless they are overdue or reserved for another borrower. Items can be renewed up to two times. Conditions apply when renewing inter library loans. Items can be renewed in person, by telephone or online.Special collections including Express DVDs and Quick Picks cannot be renewed.
It is important to return your items on time. You may receive a courtesy reminder about your items being overdue.You will not be able to borrow again until the overdue items are returned.Items that are long overdue can incur overdue fines. Express DVDs incur overdue fines immediately after the due date.
A temporary membership can be arranged whilst you are on holiday from interstate or oversaeas in the City of Belmont. Identification is required as per a standard membership and a refundable fee of $25.00 is payable at the time of joining. Temporary members can borrow up to a maximum of 5 items.You can receive a full refund at the end of your temporary membership by presenting your original receipt, membership card, and clearing all outstanding items and accounts. Cash refunds are only available during council administration hours.For temporary membership, visit the Library and present the following documentation:**Interstate Travellers● Interstate photo identification with your residential address ie: New South Wales Drivers LicenceInternational Travellers● International photo identification ie: International Passport**Expired forms of identification are not accepted.
