Community Cookbook - lift the lid on your family recipes!

WANTED: Recipes for our Community Cookbook. Submit your favourite family recipe and win!

CLOSING DATE: Saturday, 29 April, 2017

The City of Belmont is set to publish its first community cookbook! Twelve major winners will attend an exclusive cooking workshop with food blogger and nutritionist, Sarah Moore, and will be specially featured in the cookbook with photos of their culinary masterpiece.

Entries may also require a photo permission form and copyright agreement form.

Art and craft teacher Norma Hatchett will be visiting the Library in April to read some wonderful stories about gum-nut babies and show you how to make your very own gum-nut baby from clay and other natural bush items.

LEGO Club - World Icons

Get creative with LEGO, make some new friends and play LEGO games galore! This month our theme is iconic structures such as the Empire State Building and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The session includes team building projects, challenges for speed builds (how fast can you build it?) and creative ‘freestyle’ builds. Your LEGO creations might even be displayed in the library.

The Secret Codes of Animals


Available throughout the school holidays.

There will be animals hiding in the nooks and crannies of the library and amongst the shelves these school holidays. Your mission is to find and record all 9 letters hidden on animals throughout the library and unscramble them to find the secret code. Reveal this secret code to our friendly staff to collect a prize.

Borrow a deckchair for the day!



​Available throughout the school holidays.

The library now has deckchairs available for loan.

Deckchairs can be borrowed for use in the green spaces just outside the library building.

Relax under a shady tree and read a book or magazine from our extensive collection.  All you need is your library card (and perhaps a picnic).
