National Science Week 2017: See You Later! I'm Off To Mars - Flying Adventures With A Science Illustrator

Do you ever have dreams about flying? How is it possible for humans to lift off from the surface of the earth? What if you could design your own flying machine right in your own backyard? Join Aśka the science illustrator as she discusses her latest cosmic comic book and experiments with flight.  Get a taste for invention, innovation and (possibly) some explosions!

Ambulance Picture

National Science Week 2017: Ambulance Tour

Explore the inside of a working ambulance with the crew from St John Ambulance. Presenters will also provide children with an introductory session on the application of slings and bandages and a little insight into what it might be like to be a paramedic. They might even turn on the lights and sirens!

Enter our Children's Book Week Competition by submitting artwork or poetry based on this year's theme 'Escape To Everywhere'. Two suitcases (one for art and one for poetry) will be awarded in the following age ranges:

Kindergarten and Pre-Primary
Year One to Year Three
Year Four to Year Six

Entries will be displayed in the Library over Book Week and the winners will be announced on Friday, 25 August 2017.  Drop entries into the Library or scan and email to libinfodesk@belmont.wa.gov.au
