Age-Friendly Community Plan and Age Friendly Focus Group

Age-Friendly Community PlanIMG_9685.jpg

The City of Belmont’s Age-Friendly Community Plan sets out the City’s objectives for providing future improvements in the lives of senior residents. An age-friendly community ensures seniors can continue to actively participate in their community feeling respected, valued and engaged.

The City has worked in partnership with residents, the broader community and the aged services sector to ensure the plan was created with and for the City of Belmont community.

The plan is currently under review with a new version being developed in 2017. To ensure we capture the voices of our senior residents and other relevant stakeholders, we will be running a number of community forums and undertaking a survey to gather your views and suggestions. Based on your feedback, we will continue to enhance the opportunities to promote active ageing to create a stronger and more resilient community.  Please join us for a cuppa and a chat at one of the following Community Conversations (see the flyer for more details).

All participants in the survey will go in the draw to win a $200 Coles Group and Myer gift card.

Age Friendly Focus Group

The Age Friendly Focus Group (AFFG) was formed to ensure community involvement in the implementation of the City’s Age-Friendly Community Plan and consists of community members, service providers, support organisations and City of Belmont staff.

The group meets regularly and serves as a forum for community members and stakeholders to provide recommendations and feedback on the Age-Friendly Community Plan and also share information on activities and services planned by the City, or that are occurring within Belmont and local areas.

The AFFG meetings are held regularly at the City of Belmont Civic Centre. If you would like information about this group or would be interested in joining the group, click on the below links or contact us.
