Every year, the City of Belmont organises the Walk for A Wish fun run to fundraise for the Make a Wish Foundation.
Make-A-Wish Australia has been granting wishes to children and young people since 1985. Wishes bring magic, joy and hope to these children and their families, as well as unforgettable experiences. They are the only children's charity in Australia that focuses solely on wish granting.
Walk for a Wish 2008 will be held on Sunday 6 April 2008, the morning of the Autumn River Festival at Garvey Park. It involves a 6 kilometre scenic walk / run along the Swan River. Particpants can enter individually, as a school or a corporate team.
Check in: 9.30am
Race start time: 10.30am
Winners are awarded with great prizes. There are also heaps of other prize opportunties for best dressed, most members from a corportate organisation and the most school participants.
A free Body Balance cool down and breakfast will be offered at the conclusion of the walk/run. Also, why not wind down with a low cost massage provided by Challenger TAFE massage students.
Registrations are essential (early bird or on the day) and all proceeds go to the Make a Wish Foundation.
