 Environmental Health

The City’s Health Department is responsible for ensuring the overall public health of the City and for:

  • The inspection of food premises, stables, hairdressers and skin penetration premises, lodging houses, caravan park premises and public buildings
  • Carrying out food sampling
  • Survey and following up communicable and infectious disease notifications
  • Immunisation clinics
  • Monitor dwellings unfit for human habitation and issuing upgrading notices
  • Carrying out water sampling of public and semi-public swimming pools (not private)
  • Investigating noise, nuisance and vermin complaints
