Local Planning Scheme No. 15
The City of Belmont Local Planning Scheme No. 15 is responsible for the City’s entire district and is made up of two parts: the Scheme Text and Scheme Map.
These parts outline how the land is zoned and can be used according to the zoning, and provide the specific development requirements for both new and re-developed sites.
The Local Planning Scheme needs to align with the State Governments
Planning and Development Act 2005 and the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015.

The Local Planning Scheme typically has a lifespan of 5 to 10 years, and must be reviewed every 5 years. The next review is scheduled from 2020.
