The City of Belmont undertakes its own road sweeping activities utilising its own staff and equipment. Currently the time taken to sweep the whole City occurs on a six to eight weekly cycle with shopping precincts and various car parks on a weekly cycle.
The service is ongoing, all year round. Our sweeper also undertakes the road construction sweeping for projects, so depending on the project type and frequency, this may reduce City sweep cycles.
Sweeping of shopping centres and various car parks is carried out on a weekly basis as follows:
||Belgravia Street Shops, Epsom Avenue Shops and Belvidere Street Shops|
||Wright Street Shops, Civic Centre, Faulkner Park and Progress Way|
||Belmont Village Shopping Centre|
||Belmont Oasis Leisure Centre car park, Progress Way, Kooyong Road Shops and Love Street Shops|
||Tomato Lake |
||Garvey Park, Goodwood Boat Ramp and Hardey Park|
||Kewdale Industrial Area, Abernethy Road, Belmont Avenue and area bounded by Belgravia Street, Great Eastern Highway, Belmont Avenue and Alexander Road|
||School car parks and surrounds|
Shopping Centre Paving Cleaning Program
In order to maintain the appearance of the footpaths and paving areas outside our shopping centres, the City of Belmont has funded a program to pressure clean the paving on a quarterly basis. The work is carried out at times that would least disrupt both the shop owners and the public.
The City also provides a cleaning maintenance program to address spot cleans of food spills and offensive wastes when reported. The public can assist us in this program by reporting any spills or offensive waste that may be seen to Darryl.firstname.lastname@example.org or phone in office hours to 94777226
