Mandatory development assessment panel applications

Development applications proposed within the City of Belmont with a value of $10 million or more need to be determined by the Development Assessment Panel.

Optional development assessment panel applications

If the value of a development is between $2 million and $10 million, applicants/landowners can choose to have their development application determined by the Development Assessment Panel, instead of the City of Belmont.

Local government delegated applications

If the value of a development is between $2 million and $10 million, the City of Belmont may choose to delegate its decision-making authority to the Development Assessment Panel.

Excluded applications

The types of application which cannot be determined by the Development Assessment Panel include:
 

• Single houses
• Carports, shade sails, outbuildings or sheds
• Less than 10 grouped dwellings or multiple dwellings
• Development by the local government or Western Australian Planning Commission

If you need to request approval from the Development Assessment Panel, you can submit your application with the City of Belmont.
 
Please note, you will need to meet the usual application and information requirements (including the application fee) along with an extra form and fee:
 

• A DAP Form 1 is needed for all new applications;
• A DAP Form 2 is needed to amend or cancel any previous Development Assessment Panel approvals.
