City Of Belmont Art Awards Attracts More Than 300 Entries

More than 300 entries have been received for the 2021 City of Belmont Art Awards.

The Art Awards are an opportunity for Western Australian based artists to showcase their art as part of a free two week public exhibition from 12 June.

“The City of Belmont Art Awards celebrate the creative talents of people in our local community, as well as in the wider arts community across Western Australia,” City of Belmont Mayor Cr Phil Marks said.

“The City is proud to facilitate this important cultural event which is one of the highlights of our arts calendar this year,” Mayor Marks said.

A judging panel will select the winners for each award inclusive of a $10,000 Overall Award (acquisitive) sponsored by Perth Airport.

Other awards include the Emerging Artist and Youth Award sponsored by Youth Partner for the Art Awards Belmont Forum, and the City of Belmont Resident Award sponsored by CraigCare Ascot Waters.

Winners will be announced at an invitation only Awards Night on 25 June 2021.

As part of the Art Awards, an Education Program is also being held which includes an Art Collectors Night hosted by Famous Sharron, as well as a Pottery Night, a Public Walking Tour, an Artist in Residence at Belmont Forum, and Life Drawing with Tim Pearson. Details and booking information for these programs is available on the City's events calendar.
