City of Belmont Art Awards return for 2021

The City is pleased to announce the return of the City of Belmont Art Awards in 2021 including a $10,000 Acquisitive Award.

The City’s much-loved Art and Photographic Awards has been on hiatus since 2016, and has now been renamed the City of Belmont Art Awards with an expanded scope and larger prize on offer.

City of Belmont Mayor Cr Phil Marks said planning is well underway for the Art Awards to return in June 2021.

The Awards will provide an opportunity for all Western Australian based artists to showcase their art as part of a free two week public exhibition.

All mediums will be considered for inclusion and WA based Art Galleries are encouraged to enter their represented artists.

“The City of Belmont Art Awards is another way the City aims to support new and emerging artists in the local community,” Mayor Marks said.

The Art Awards exhibition will be hosted in the City’s new pop up activation space, The Glasshouse, in the heart of the Faulkner Park Civic Precinct (the City's former Ruth Faulkner Library building at 215 Wright Street, Cloverdale).

The City is currently seeking the support of the corporate community to fund the prize pool available to artists. Find out more about sponsorship packages.

Entries are expected to open in March this year, with more details and prizes to be released soon.
