COVID-19 Important Update - Services

Premier Mark McGowan announced that the lockdown will end tonight as scheduled. From 12:01am Saturday 3 July, we will enter a interim phase with a number of restrictions based on health advice. Pending the latest health advice, this interim phase will continue until 12:01am, Tuesday 6 July.
 

What is happening with City facilities?

Inline with the State Government's announcement, masks will now be required for entry to all City facilities. Registration via the SafeWA app or manual record continues to be mandatory at entry. Find out more on our COVID-19 page.

The Civic Centre and Operations Centre will reopen on Monday 5 July with revised capacities. The City’s Justice of the Peace Service will not be available during this interim phase. For alternative document witnessing centres, please visit the State Government's website.

Ruth Faulkner Library and Belmont Museum located within Belmont Hub will reopen on Saturday 3 July with a revised capacity of 20 people at one time. The Library's after hours chute has opened. Events and programs during this interim phase has been cancelled. Ticketed events and weekly programs at the Ruth Faulkner Library and Belmont Museum will resume from Tuesday 6 July, following further easing of restrictions.

The reopening of the Seniors Hub (located in Belmont Hub) is still to be confirmed.
Community centres will be available to hire from Saturday 3 July with a revised capacity of 20 people.

Playgrounds, exercise equipment, and Belmont Skate Park will reopen from 12:01am Friday 2 July. Please note our team will be removing signage throughout Saturday. Barbecue facilities at the City’s parks will be available in the afternoon of Saturday 3 July.

The Base@Belmont will be offering drop-in support during this interim period with revised capacity limits.

Belmont Oasis will remain closed during this interim period. BlueFit Kids vacation care will continue to operate as normal.

What services are affected?

Services at the City will resume as normal. If you prefer not to come to the Civic Centre, our staff remain available to serve customers over the phone on 9477 7222 or email belmont@belmont.wa.gov.au.

What were the restrictions announced by the State Government as part of the interim phase?

The post-lockdown transition period for Perth and Peel includes:
  • Wearing a mask when in public and while at work, unless exempt or for vigorous outdoor exercise;
  • All businesses can reopen, 4 square metre capacity rule in place for businesses and venues, up to a maximum of 20;
  • 20 person capacity at all events including weddings, funerals and places of worship;
  • Professional and outdoor community sports, including training, are permitted, but without spectators. Indoor community sport is not permitted;
  • Seated service only at hospitality venues, maximum limits 20 patrons;
  • 10-person limit for private indoor gatherings and 20-person limit for outdoor gatherings;
  • Visits to aged care and disability care facilities restricted to essential care, compassionate grounds, end of life and advocacy; and no visitors to hospitals except for compassionate reasons, end of life, accompanying a child or supporting a partner giving birth;
  • No visitors to residential aged care and/or disability facilities except for exceptional circumstances such as essential care, compassionate reasons, end of life and advocacy and;
  • No visitors to hospitals except for compassionate reasons, end of life, accompanying a child or supporting a partner giving birth.
