Changes to Entry Requirements at City of Belmont Facilities

The City has made changes to entry requirements to a number of our facilities. These changes will take effect from 12:01am Thursday 3 March 2022.

In addition to the directives put in place by the State Government, visitors and contractors aged 16 years and over will be required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or medical exemption to enter the Civic Centre, Belmont Hub including Ruth Faulkner Library and Belmont Museum, and the Operations Centre.

Patrons to any of the City’s facilities can show proof of vaccination either in a digital or paper-based form, along with acceptable forms of identification if they do not use the ServiceWA app.

To continue to provide services to our residents who are not vaccinated, the City will allow entry without proof of vaccination into the foyer area at the Civic Centre only. However, proof of vaccination will be required for contractors and visitors attending meetings at the Civic Centre.

Additionally, the City’s Justice of the Peace service has been suspended temporarily, along with any volunteer involvement in programs held at the Civic Centre and Belmont Hub.

These changes are a direct result of the expectation of increasing number of COVID-19 cases in WA in the coming weeks and months in the community, and the need to keep staff and visitors alike safe while in City facilities.

These decisions have been made in accordance with the City of Belmont’s CEO’s duty of care under the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1984 and the Occupiers Liability Act 1985.

Visitors to Ruth Faulkner Library and Belmont Museum will be greeted by a concierge upon arrival where they will be required to provide proof of vaccination.

So that services remain available to all, the City has compiled a comprehensive list of alternative services available for those people who are unable to (or choose not to) visit the library and museum. Access alternative services.

Entry to Ruth Faulkner Library and Belmont Museum will only be accessible via the Library and Museum Entry (adjacent from the Civic Centre), with entry to the Library via the café now closed. Toilet facilities are available on the first floor of Belmont Hub.

Contactless delivery will be available at the City’s Operations Centre.

Check in via the SafeWA, ServiceWA or hard-copy contact registers, mask wearing indoors and practicing physical distancing continues to remain mandatory at all City facilities.

The health and safety of our residents, visitors, staff and volunteers is our top priority we thank you for your patience during this ever changing time.

The City will continue to monitor and act upon the latest advice from the State Government and WA Health Department as it is received.
