Library and Museum outreach
We offer a range of free outreach sessions to early childhood education centres, kindergartens and playgroups to help engage and encourage early readers.
Better Beginnings kindergarten sessions
We have partnered with the State Library of Western Australia’s Better Beginnings program to help every child in the City of Belmont have access to books at home.
Each kindergarten child receives a pack containing a book to keep and early literacy resources for parents. The delivery of these packs can also be combined with a visit from one of our engaging early childhood presenters who will present an engaging story time session full of songs and rhymes and an age-appropriate introduction to library services.
To find out more or book your session, please email
libraryandmuseum@belmont.wa.gov.au or phone the library on 9477 7150.
Story time outreach
You can book a session for our engaging and experienced literacy presenters to visit your day care, early childhood education centre or playgroup. These sessions are suitable for children and families with a variety of English competencies and literacy levels and can include a craft activity to solidify the theme and promote active learning on request.
