Borrowing information
Please bring your Library card or digital barcode to borrow items.
Borrowing limits
The total borrowing limit is 15 items. Individual item limits and loan periods vary depending on the item types as outlined below.

Loan limits and loan periods for eResources are determined by the supplying vendor.
Devices may only be borrowed and used within the Library and Museum and must be returned on the same day before close.
Returning items
Physical items may be returned at any time.
- During opening hours: please place items in the returns chute just inside the main entrance. You may wish to watch our sorter in action as it sorts your items to their locations!
- At any time: our external returns chute is accessible 24/7 and is located to the left of the main entrance, approximately halfway along the building.
Please kindly return Kits during opening hours only by handing directly to a staff member.
Renewing items
Most items can be renewed up to two times via the app, by logging in to your account, or by contacting us. You will not be able to renew:
- if the item is more than three weeks overdue
- if the item is on hold for another borrower.
- if the item is from a special collection e.g. Showcase, Express DVDs
- if the item is an interlibrary loan - please contact us for more information
Overdue items
We do not charge overdue fees, however please do your best to return items by their due date, or renew items.
Lost items
A replacement fee may apply for any lost items. We will assume the item is lost when:
- the item is overdue by three weeks
- an express DVD is overdue by one day
Returning overdue items will cancel the invoice.
You cannot borrow until overdue items are returned, or until outstanding fees are paid or waived.
Damaged items
A replacement fee may apply for any item returned with unreasonable damaged. You cannot borrow until outstanding fees are paid or waived.
