How to join
Anyone can join the Library, and it is completely free! We have a variety of membership types to suit most circumstances.
You may also join online now for instant access to our extensive digital collection.
Adult Memberships
A full adult membership is available to all residents of Western Australia. To become a member, visit Ruth Faulkner Library with your photo identification (driver's licence, passport or WA photo card). You will also need to provide us with your date of birth and a way to contact you (home address, email address and/or phone number).
Interim Memberships
If you are unable to provide photo identification, or you are not a resident of Western Australia, we can arrange an interim membership, which gives you a smaller borrowing limit while granting access to public PCs and our full range of digital resources.
If you do not have photo identification, you may provide us with two documents that include your name, such as a Medicare card, Centrelink-issued card, utility bill, bank statement etc. You may upgrade to a full membership when you can provide photo identification.
If you are not a resident of Western Australia, you may provide us with photo identification such as home state driver's licence or passport to establish an interim membership.
Child Memberships
Instil a love of libraries in your little ones early with their own library membership! To set up a child membership, you will need to bring your own photo identification, and documentation to confirm that you are the parent or guardian, such as a birth certificate, Medicare card or other Centrelink-issued card. You will also need to provide your child's date of birth and a way to contact you (home address, email address and/or phone number).
Parents and guardians are responsible for all items borrowed by their children, including suitability of material selected, and fees for any lost or damaged items.
