Yes. You usually need your membership card to borrow items or use library services including public computers.
If you forget your card and wish to borrow items we are happy to hold any items you would like to borrow for up to 3 days until you can come back in with your membership card.
If you forget your card, you may request a Guest Pass to use our public computers. Guest passes are valid for 30 minutes.
If you download and sign in to our library app on your phone or other digital device you will have access to a digital version of your membership card. You can use this digital card to borrow items and access library services even if you have forgotten your physical card.
As a member, you can borrow up to a maximum of 15 items on your card, except for:
Other special collections may have different loan limits.
You can borrow most items for 3 weeks, except for special loan collections. You can borrow Express DVDs for 7 days only.
You can generally renew items twice, unless they are:

More than three weeks overdue;

Reserved for another borrower;

From special collections such as Express DVDs and Showcase.
You can renew your items online through the library catalogue. You will need your library card number and PIN to log in.
Conditions apply to renewing items on loan from another library (inter-library loans).
Please do your best to return your items on time. You cannot borrow any other items until all outstanding accounts are paid or your items have been returned.
The following penalties apply:
Please note, when you join the library, you accept responsibility for all items borrowed on your card and any cards where you are listed as the parent or guardian.
Please take care to return items in the same condition you borrowed them. If items are lost or returned with unreasonable damage, you could be invoiced. If you are invoiced for an item, please speak to any of our staff about payment options.
If you pay for a lost item and then find it, you could be entitled to a refund if the item is still in acceptable condition.
We can only consider refunds if you return the item within 6 months of the payment date and present your payment receipt.
When you join the library, you accept responsibility for all items borrowed on your card. Please get in touch with us as soon as you notice your card is missing so we can block any further transactions.
To apply for a replacement library card, you need to pay $3.00 and present your current photo identification.
Yes. As a member, you can borrow eBooks, audiobooks, online magazines and newspapers, and even stream movies.

Yes. You can book a public computer to use the internet or use free Wi-Fi from your own device.
