Support programs to help improve your English
We offer a range of programs to help you practise English and settle into Australia if you are new. If you are looking for support to help with your English skills, you might like to join:

English-support resources
Our range of items which could help you to improve your English includes:

Bilingual picture books – Browse our World Languages collection to find bilingual picture books and encourage your children to share a story in English and a second language;

Learning English collection – Explore our range of books including International English Language Testing (IELTS) study guides;

Beginning English Adult Graded Readers – Designed for beginner adult or young adult readers, these books are colour-coded to make it easy to find your level and many come with a CD so you can listen as you read along with the story.
English classes
You can visit the library to collect a brochure about the English class taught through the Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP).
These classes are held at South Metropolitan TAFE in Carlisle and you could join either full-time, part-time or on Saturday mornings. For more information, email
