The City of Belmont and City of Belmont RSL Sub-branch will host their annual ANZAC Day Dawn Service on Saturday 25 April at the Faulkner Park War Memorial, commencing at 5:45am.
Community members are invited to gather at dawn to honour the sacrifice of those who have served our nation and to reflect on the enduring legacy of the ANZAC spirit.
City of Belmont Mayor Robert Rossi said the service remains an important moment for the local community to pause and reflect.
“ANZAC Day gives us the opportunity to come together in quiet reflection to honour those who served and sacrificed for our country. To remember those who didn’t come home, those who did with injuries and experiences that never truly left them, and the families who carried their own burden of war.”
“Their actions helped shape the country we live in today. And the values they showed; mateship, endurance, courage, and sacrifice - continue to guide us,” said Mayor Rossi.
City of Belmont RSL Sub-branch President, Alan Richardson said the service holds deep meaning for veterans, their families and the wider community.
“It’s heartening to see so many people involved in the ANZAC Dawn Service each year, whether it is ex-service people marching, organisations laying wreaths, or families joining us afterwards at the RSL for the gunfire breakfast. It’s a special time to come together, honor those who served, and reflect on the sacrifices they made,” said Mr Richardson.
Ex-service personnel are invited to assemble early at the rotunda in Faulkner Park ahead of the service, if they wish to march.
Following the service, attendees are invited to a gunfire breakfast at the City of Belmont RSL Sub-Branch in Ascot, providing an opportunity to connect, reflect and share in remembrance.
