City of Belmont Art Awards Attracts More Than 450 Entries

More than 450 entries have been received for the 2022 City of Belmont Art Awards.

The Art Awards are an opportunity for Western Australian based artists to showcase their art as part of a free two-week public exhibition from 3 September.

“The City of Belmont Art Awards celebrate the creative talents of people in our local community, as well as in the wider arts community across Western Australia,” City of Belmont Mayor Cr Phil Marks said.

“The City is proud to facilitate this important cultural event which is one of the highlights of our arts calendar each year,” Mayor Marks said.

A judging panel will select the winners for each award inclusive of a $10,000 Overall Award.

Other awards include the Youth Awards which is sponsored by Youth Partner Belmont Forum, the City of Belmont Resident Award, and the Popular Choice Award.

Winners will be announced at an invitation only Awards Night on 15 September.

The Art Awards exhibition will be held at The Glasshouse (the City’s former Library building) at 215 Wright Street, Cloverdale from Saturday, 3 September 2022 until Saturday, 17 September 2022.

The exhibition is open 10am to 4pm, Monday to Saturday, and 1pm to 4pm Sunday. Bookings are not required.

All artworks will be available for sale unless marked otherwise.
