The City of Belmont has endorsed its 2026–27 Annual Budget at the June Ordinary Council Meeting, supporting essential services, infrastructure and long-term planning for the community.
Mayor Rossi said he was particularly pleased to see an additional $150,000 allocated to help residents improve safety around their homes.
“While the finer details are still being finalised, this investment demonstrates that we have listened carefully to community feedback and are responding with practical support where it is needed.
“This additional funding complements the City's broader community safety efforts, including our CCTV network, security patrols, advocacy and education programs.
“We recognise that policing and law enforcement remain the responsibility of WA Police, however we are committed to doing everything within the role of local government to support residents and strengthen community safety,” said Mayor Rossi.
The balanced budget focuses on maintaining the services residents rely on, while continuing to invest in infrastructure to support the City’s growing population.
The City is the only metropolitan local government who offers a 5% discount for full payment of rates by the due date, supporting households and businesses managing cost of living pressures.
Significant projects in the 2026-27 Budget include:
- Belvidere Streetscape Revitalisation project
- Peet Park Revitalisation project
- Esplanade Foreshore Stabilisation
- Road and footpath renewal program
