COVID-19 Important Update: City Facilities and Services

In line with the directions issued by the State Government, the City of Belmont has closed all facilities, including the Civic Centre, Operations Centre, Ruth Faulkner Library, Belmont Museum, Seniors Hub, playgrounds, Belmont Oasis Leisure Centre, outdoor exercise equipment, barbecue facilities at parks, community centres for hire, Belmont Skate Park and Forster Park Pump until 12:01am Saturday 3 July 2021.

To support families within the community, Belmont Oasis Leisure Centre will continue to operate BlueFit Kids Before and After School Care programs.

As the Civic Centre is closed, the City's Justice of the Peace service will not be available. Alternative document witnessing centres can be found on the State Government's website.
 
Please note that due to time constraints, some City playgrounds and outdoor exercise areas will not have this snap-shutdown signposted at the location. All playgrounds and exercise areas are closed and are not to be used during the lockdown.

The Base @ Belmont Youth Centre

The Base @ Belmont will be closed and all regular programming cancelled until further notice. Case management support remains available between 10am and 6pm via Skype, phone and email. You can also email (Belmont.base@ymcawa.org.au), call (08 9479 5794) or text (0447348186) The Base and they'll reply during business hours. Make sure you are following them on Facebook and Instagram so you can keep up to date with tips, advice and activities.

Ruth Faulkner Library

Ruth Faulkner Library patrons with items due this week will have their loan items extended. The after hours return chute is unavailable.
 
Items can be extended by logging into your account online or via the library and museum app. Express DVDs and showcase collections are not able to be renewed online or via the app but loan times will be extended if they were due during the lockdown period.

Services

Waste collection and Belmont Community Watch will continue as normal.

Rates

As the City’s Civic Centre is closed due to the COVID-19 lockdown, in-person rates payments via the cashier are not available. Residents and ratepayers are encouraged to pay using alternative payment methods such as BPay, online or phone.Our friendly Rates team are available on 9477 7222 to assist residents and ratepayers in making a payment.  

Updates

This is an emerging situation and the City will provide further updates via the City of Belmont website and social media.
 
Masks remain mandatory during this lockdown for Perth and Peel residents. Masks are not necessary for children under 12.
 
People are encouraged to get tested if they have symptoms and if people have been to an exposure site, they must go and get tested. View testing locations
 
All residents are encouraged to comply with State Government restrictions.  Community members can contact the State Government’s 13-COVID or 132 6843 for assistance 24/7.
