We’re inviting artists and creatives from across the state to showcase their talent as part of the 2025 City of Belmont Art Awards.
The annual Art Awards provides a special opportunity for our community to connect and engage with the arts and celebrate our City as a place of creativity and culture.
We’re inviting entries from youth, emerging and established artists, welcoming a variety of artistic mediums and styles including drawings, paintings, photography, textiles, sculptures and ceramics.
All entries are judged by a selection panel, with the selected works displayed in September at the two-week Art Awards exhibition. All participating works go in the running to receive a share of $13,000 in prizes across six categories:
-
City of Belmont Overall Acquisitive Award
-
City of Belmont Resident Award
-
Emerging Artist Award (18 to 25 years)
-
Resident Youth Award (11 to 17 years)
-
Youth Award (11 to 17 years)
-
Popular Choice Award
The 2025 Awards will once again feature the self-nominated Mentorship Award, which sees one Artist selected to take part in a one-on-one mentorship with a professional WA-based Artist.
To help our community prepare their entries, we’re hosting the Art Awards workshop series with support from Artsource. The series is running throughout May and includes five sessions exploring the creative process, technical skills and professional strategies.
We’re also excited to welcome our 2025 Art Award sponsor PerthNow.
If you have a story to tell and artwork to share, we’d love to showcase it at this year’s Art Awards. Entries for the Art Awards close on Wednesday 4 June.
For more details and to submit your entry, visit the Art Awards page on our website, collect a hard copy entry form from the Civic Centre, or contact our Arts and Place team on artsandplace@belmont.wa.gov.au or 9477 7248.
