Free Trees for Residents Now Available

UPDATE: Following a strong community uptake, changes have been made to this program. Read the updated Trees for Residents information.

The City’s Trees for Residents program is now underway.

The program enables residents to opt in to receive a free tree for their property which provides benefits such as promoting cooling, shade and stormwater filtration at their home as well as assisting the City in increasing canopy cover.

There are six tree types available as part of the program. The table below can be used to help community members to decide the right type for their property.

Remember - trees received as part of the City’s Trees for Residents program must be planted within private property boundaries and not on the verge.
