The City of Belmont’s Harmony Festival returns to Tomato Lake on Saturday 22 March, from 4pm to 8pm, bringing an evening of live music, dance, activities, and food from around the world.
This event celebrates the community’s rich cultural diversity, with over 40% of City of Belmont residents born overseas and more than 30% speaking a language other than English at home.
City of Belmont Mayor Robert Rossi said the event is a chance for everyone to come together and celebrate.
“Harmony Festival is a wonderful reflection of our City – diverse, welcoming and full of life. It’s an opportunity to belong, to share traditions, and to experience something new.
“We invite everyone to come along, celebrate and enjoy the experience together,” said Mayor Rossi.
This year’s festival will feature
The Whale, a 10-metre interactive puppet presented by Spare Parts Puppet Theatre and proudly sponsored by Perth Airport.
Unlike anything seen at the event before,
The Whale invites the community to take part in bringing the puppet to life, creating a magical and immersive experience for all ages.
The festival will also showcase live music, cultural performances, and an elegant catwalk experience from Modest Fashion Australia.
Attendees can enjoy interactive activities, from African drumming and a world-music silent disco to circus skills. More than 20 local organisations will be there, offering ways to connect with the community.
Food stalls will serve a diverse range of global cuisines, with options for vegetarian, vegan, halal, and gluten-free diets. A Quiet Zone will also be available for those observing Ramadan, with free dates provided for breaking fast.
