Have your say on the future of the Windan-Guildford stretch of the Swan River

The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA), in collaboration with the Cities of Belmont, Bayswater, Swan and Vincent, and the Town of Bassendean, has launched community consultation for the Windan-Guildford Locality Plan.

The plan will create a long-term vision for the section of Swan River (Derbal Yirragan) between Windan Bridge and Guildford, covering the foreshore in our city and four other local government areas.

The Locality Plan will guide decision-making about environmental protection, recreation opportunities, culture, heritage and climate adaptation across this significant stretch of the Swan River (Derbal Yirragan).

To help shape the plan, we’re encouraging our community to get involved and share their ideas about:

  • How they currently use and enjoy the river

  • What they value most about the area

  • Opportunities for improvement

  • Vision for the future

You can contribute by completing an online survey and mapping tool, coming along to a drop-in session, or stopping by the consultation booth at Kidz Fest.

Consultation is open until Friday 28 November.

To share your ideas, visit the Windan-Guildford Locality Plan consultation page.
