The hugely popular Kidz Fest returns to the City of Belmont this October, just in time for National Children’s Week.
This annual celebration offers free entertainment and activities for children under 12 and their families.
Previously held in April, the City moved Kidz Fest to align with National Children’s Week which runs from 19 to 27 October.
The event will take place from 11am to 4pm on Saturday 12 October at Garvey Park in Ascot, featuring a range of exciting zones.
Families can enjoy inflatable and carnival rides, face painting, roving entertainers and an impressive ski show on the Swan River.
A major highlight this year is the introduction of Imaginarium Land, a circus inspired area featuring performances in big top tents and workshops.
Mayor Robert Rossi was delighted to see Kidz Fest return for another year.
“Kidz Fest is one of the most popular events in our annual calendar and the City wanted to do something special this year in honour of our 125th anniversary year, with the introduction of Imaginarum Land and the return of the ski shows that have been a part of this event’s history.
"At the heart of this event is the idea of giving kids the opportunity to belong and try something new. We want to see them thrive, learn, and feel part of the City of Belmont community from a young age,” said Mayor Rossi.
Lotterywest are a major supporter of the event, through a $30,000 Lotterywest grant to raise community sense of belonging and strengthen social connections.
The Member for Belmont Ms Cassie Rowe MLA was pleased to award the Lotterywest grant to the City.
“I am honoured to be able to provide a $30,000 Lotterywest grant on behalf of the State Government to go towards Kidz Fest 2024.
“This event is an incredible opportunity for families to have a day out and experience all the fun activities that Kidz Fest has to offer.
“Kidz Fest is always a huge success, and I look forward to seeing the community come together once again.
“Congratulations to the City of Belmont for putting on this terrific family event each year!” said Ms Rowe.
