NAIDOC Week is just around the corner, and we’ve got a bunch of great opportunities to immerse yourself in First Nations culture.
This year, NAIDOC Week celebrates its 50th anniversary with the theme 50 Years of Deadly. It runs from Sunday 5 July to Sunday 12 July.
On Monday 6 July, we’re starting the week off with our NAIDOC Flag Raising Ceremony at Ruth Faulkner Library and the Belmont Hub Plaza. The Ceremony sees the Australian Flag, Australian Aboriginal Flag, Torres Strait Islander Flag, Western Australian Flag, and City of Belmont Flag raised and flown in tandem. On Tuesday 7 July, children aged 6 to 10 years can join Noongar Elder Aunty TJ for a special storytelling and art workshop at Ruth Faulkner Library. Learn more via our website or contact the City.
