Unleashing Creativity: Art Awards Workshop Series returns in April

We’re excited to ignite a creative spark across the City of Belmont community with the return of the Art Awards Education Program.

Held each year to support the community prepare their Art Awards applications, the hands-on workshop series provides a unique opportunity for attendees to engage and learn from leading figures in the creative sector.

The 2024 workshop series includes five sessions exploring the creative process and technical skills, including preparing an Artist Statement, submitting exhibition proposals, plus promoting and documenting your work.

All workshops are free for students, $5 for City of Belmont residents, and $10 for non-City of Belmont residents.

Workshops sessions are held each week from Friday 19 April to Saturday 18 May at the Events Room, Ruth Faulkner Library:

  • Exhibitions for Artists: The art of exhibiting with Sandra Murray | Saturday 27 April
  • How to Write an Artist Statement with Mikaela Castledine | Saturday 4 May
  • Documenting Your Artwork on a Budget with Robert Frith | Saturday 11 May
  • Build a Stretcher Frame and Stretch a Canvas with JC from Women on the Tools | Saturday 18 May
