For all abilities aged 15+ years
This five-week workshop series is presented by Artistic Disorder in collaboration with the City’s Library and Art’s department.
Artistic Disorder have designed a series of workshops to build your artistic skills progressively as an individual and as a group. The workshop series is broken down into simple steps and will start with idea generation and basic drawing skill. As each week progresses, you'll transition to stencil making, and then finally building up to large-scale application of a collaborative artwork created by all participants.
Beginners are encouraged to register as the workshops are designed to mitigate the pressure to create something ‘perfect’ but instead give participants ‘permission to play’ and create.
Participants are expected to attend all five sessions below:
Week 1: Thursday 5 February – Foundational skills and visual language
Week 2: Thursday 12 February – Visions and themes
Week 3: Thursday 19 February – Concept refinement
Week 4: Thursday 26 February – Small scale practice projects
Week 5: Thursday 5 March – Creation of final artwork
There will be a final reveal of the artwork after installation, date to be confirmed post artwork production. The artwork will be installed on Level 2 of Belmont Hub and added to the City’s Art Collection. All participants will receive a framed print of the finished artwork to take home!
