Nomination guidelines
NAIDOC Week celebrates the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life.
The City of Belmont’s NAIDOC Student Awards program traditionally recognises Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) students’ personal achievement or leading by example.
The City recognises that not all schools have ATSI students enrolled in their schools. However, they do have students who have actively engaged in Aboriginal studies and show great depth of understanding of the Aboriginal history, culture, and the importance of reconciliation – those students are eligible for the City’s NAIDOC Student Awards program
