Home and Business Security Incentive Scheme
Assistance to secure your property
Making your property secure will reduce your chance of becoming a victim of crime. To help you do that, our Home and Business Security Incentive Scheme provides you with advice, equipment and financial support.
Providing support
We have 2 support programs under the Scheme:
- Security Appraisals which provide advice and equipment for free, tailored to your property.
- Security Rebates which provide funding to cover the cost of buying and installing security equipment.
Eligibility
At a minimum, to be eligible for the Scheme you must live, own property, or run a business in the City of Belmont and meet other criteria. Each support program has its own set of eligibility criteria and terms and conditions, all of which are detailed in each program's Fact Sheet.
The Scheme is available on a first come, first served basis and is subject to available funding. Once allocated funding is exhausted, the Scheme will close and reopen in the next financial year.

Security Appraisals
Prospective applicants, our Security Appraisals program is now at capacity. You can still apply, but you will be placed on a holding list and contacted if a spot becomes available. Due to the volume of applications, it may take up to three months to receive a response to your application.
Existing applicants, due to very high demand, we are processing a large number of applications for Security Appraisals. This may cause a delay in us responding to your application or setting your appointment. As at Thursday 8 October 2026, we are contacting applicants sequentially to set appointments for the remainder of 2026. If you don't get an appointment in that time, we will contact you in early 2027.
We appreciate your patience and understanding. If you have any questions, contact our Community Safety team on
community.safety@belmont.wa.gov.au or 9477 7222.
A Security Appraisal of your property identifies vulnerabilities and opportunities to improve security. When you book an appraisal, our Community Safety Officers will visit your property, assess it and provide:
- Security advice, both on-the-spot and in a report tailored to your property.
- Security equipment and devices of up to $850 in value for free, subject to program terms and conditions and City approval.
