Construct a crossover
A crossover is the section at the end of your driveway where your property line connects to the edge of the road. Since this section sits within the road reserve, special conditions apply to the construction and maintenance of crossovers.
In line with the law related to crossovers, you need to apply for approval from the City of Belmont to construct a crossover, before any actual construction takes place.
Depending on your development, you (or someone acting on your behalf such as your builder) will need to submit a crossover permit application.
Please note:
- If you do not apply for a crossover permit and do not comply with these laws and regulations, the City reserves the right to request modifications for which you as the property owner will bear he full cost.
- The City may impose penalties under the Consolidated Local Law 2020 and Local Government Act 1992 and take ction to correct the non-compliances and recover all associated costs.
