If you build a building or structure without a permit, the Building Act 2011 does not allow the City of Belmont to issue a Building Permit retrospectively. Instead, an application must be made for a Building Approval Certificate (Class 1 or 10 works) or an Occupancy Permit (Class 2 to 9 buildings).
