The City of Belmont offers access to a range of support services for senior residents.
Commonwealth Home Support Program
The Commonwealth Home Support Program could be suitable if someone you care about needs help with daily activities such as showering, shopping, home maintenance, preparing meals, centre-based activities, respite, transport and meal delivery services.
The program is federally-funded and available for people aged 65 years and over, or aged 50 and over for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

The first step towards the Commonwealth Home Support Program is for the person to be assessed for eligibility. The assessment will take place in their own home to determine appropriate levels of care.

Harman Park Community Centre
Harman Park Community Centre in Belmont offers a range of support and activities for people who are socially isolated, frail or have a disability.
Trained Activities Officers and volunteers run a number of activities including:
- Sports and games (adapted so that everyone can take part)
- Quizzes, board games and group activities for mental stimulation (adapted to suit different abilities)
- Guest speakers and entertainment
- Cooking, discussion groups and theme days
- Community outings
Harman Park Community Centre services are available to community members who have been assessed and meet the eligibility criteria.
