You may be able to park commercial vehicles on residential land without development approval, providing that this meets the requirements set out in Clause 4.18 of the City’s Local Planning Scheme No. 15.

All commercial vehicles need to be registered with the City to be parked on any land within a ‘Residential’ or ‘Residential and Stables’ zone.

How to register your vehicle

To register your commercial vehicle with the City, complete and submit the Commercial Vehicle Parking Registration Form and Checklist. No fee applies to register your vehicle.

How to apply for approval

If your parking situation does not comply with Clause 5.18 of Local Planning Scheme No. 15, you will need to:
 

• Complete and submit the Application for Development Approval Form;
• Provide the necessary information identified in the checklist;
• Pay an application fee of $147 (as per the Schedule of Planning Fees).
