Harmony Student Awards

Harmony Day celebrates Australia’s cultural diversity on 21 March each year, coinciding with the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

This day focuses on the themes of inclusiveness, respect and the idea that everyone belongs, regardless of their background and life circumstances.

The annual Harmony Student Awards is a City of Belmont initiative to recognise students who have contributed to creating a welcoming community. Each award recipient receives a framed certificate and a book voucher, presented by the Mayor or a Council representative at an event or assembly celebrating Harmony Day.

Nominations

Participating schools can nominate one student from any year level to receive a City of Belmont Harmony Student Award. Please check with your local school to find out if they participate in this initiative.

Nominations can be made through the webform on this page or by completing and returning this nomination form to community.development@belmont.wa.gov.au by Friday 6 March 2026.
