Project Y: the City’s youth committee
The team plans, designs, promotes and runs a number of events throughout the year. This process helps Project Y members develop valuable interpersonal, leadership, team work and event planning skills – and results in a range of fun events for young people in the City of Belmont.
WA Mental Health Week
WA Mental Health Week is observed each year from 10 to 17 October. Project Y organises an event each year to give young people the chance to access mental health support advice and services as part of a fun, family-oriented festival.
Youth Week WA
Youth Week WA is a celebration of young people held in April each year. It gives young people the opportunity to have fun, showcase their talents and skills, and celebrate their positive contribution to their community.
Hip-Hop Song Writing Workshop
To celebrate Youth Week 2021, The Valuing Children Initiative, supported by the City of Belmont, are running a Hip Hop Song Writing Workshop with Scott Griffiths (AKA MC Optamus from Downsyde). The workshop will run over two days on Wednesday 7 and Thursday 8
April. The workshop is open to 12-17 years old who live in the City of Belmont. Places are limited! Learn more and register your interest
