Dog exercise areas
Dog exercise areas
You will find a number of approved dog exercise areas for exercising off lead located around the City of Belmont.
Please note, rules apply when using these areas and these areas are not for the exclusive use of dogs. Many parks and reserves are used by sporting clubs through the year, so it is important to be respectful of this when using the areas with your dog.
When using dog exercise areas, please make sure:
- Your dog does not approach within 5 metres of land that has been set apart as a children’s playground;
- Your dog does not approach within 5 metres of the edge of playing fields being used for organised sporting or other events, as permitted by the local government, during the times of such use;
- Your dog is on a lead in any car park;
- Your dog must be able to be controlled by you at all times either by leash or verbal commands – and must be prevented from rushing up to other people and dogs.
