A new look for the City of Opportunity

As we commemorate our 125 year anniversary as a local government, it’s a time to reflect on our journey as the City of Opportunity and look forward to our future.

We are celebrating this milestone with a refreshed look to tell our story now and in the coming years. This includes a minor change to our logo and a refreshed style guide.

The new style guide builds on our City of Opportunity brand which originated in the mid-1990s, a time of significant growth and development for the City of Belmont.

Central to our branding since the early 2000s has been the joyful figure in our logo, affectionately known as Joy. Joy represents all the opportunities the city has to offer, confidently stepping forward with the sun, moon and stars in their hands.

Joy, who turns 21 this year, remains a central focus for our logo and supported by a style guide that reflects our evolution into a diverse community where everyone has the opportunity to belong.

Our new look features vibrant colours and improved accessibility, acknowledging our history and looking forward to a bright future ahead.

Keep an eye out for Joy's new look in the coming months – a symbol of where we've been and where we're going, together, in the City of Belmont.
