This year, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will become the first Australian Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, after 70 years of service.
The City of Belmont has joined in Australia’s celebration of this significant occasion. From Thursday 2 June to Monday 5 June, the Civic Centre will be illuminated at night in royal purple.
Having acceded to the throne in 1952, Her Majesty is the longest reigning monarch in British history, and the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee.
